Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick REVIEW and Overall Thoughts!

Hi there beautiful souls, hope y’all are having a good time of the year!

As the title already states, this post will be all about Charlotte Tilbury’s (CT) lipsticks πŸ™‚

A few months back I bought my first CT lipstick – the Matte Revolution range – in Love Liberty andΒ my thoughts were…

The gold-colored cover is very classic and chic. It’s simple yet sophisticated. However, what’s inside is more important, right?

The bullet: it’s matte, super light on the lips and perfectly pigmented! I do feel that I need a thin layer ofΒ lip balm beforehand to keep my lips from feeling dry. However, these stick on for ages, make you lips appear plumpy and glide on veryyyyy smoothly!

The Matte Revolution collection consists of 12 lip shades, from nudes like Very Victoria to reds like The Red Carpet. There are colors for every skin tone and every look πŸ™‚

I feel that the brand itself is created with good knowledge about skin, skincare, make-up and beauty overall. Recently, I went back to CT’s counter as I was very interested in their other products. I had already tried out the Wonder Glow, Beach Stick and some of the eye shadow products, which really, really amazed me.

I bought some more skincare products and more of the Matte Revolution lip sticks. Next to that, I feel in love with the lip liner in the same Pillow Talk – it is such a beautiful shadeΒ for all skin tones!

It makes your lips appear soft pink, healthy-looking and you feel as if there is nothing on your lips. Moreover, your entire look appears sexier yet softer.

The quality of the products I have tried out is uniformly amazing. I do understand that if you want to ”try out” the brand it is expensive, but then there are enough options on package deals and miniatures.

I would recommend to make the most ofΒ those deals, to give it a chance, and just see if it works for you personally. We all have different skin-types and, of course, various preferences and goals when it comes to beautiful skin and skincare.

Be honest with yourself: don’t go and buy like crazy, always try it out with a (few) product(s) and decide for yourself. Personally, I feel that this brand has something fresh and understated;Β however, at times it can all be a bit overwhelming πŸ™‚

Back to the Matte Revolution lip sticks…

Long story cut short:

  • Quality vs Price: Acceptable. The price of a Matte Revolution lip stick is EUR 32 (USD 34) for 3.5g. The quality is good and it does what it promises.
  • Packaging: Sophisticated and classic.
  • Application: Smooth, stays on for a long time and is light on the lips.
  • Pigmentation and variation: 12 shades, each its own pop of color and, moreover, beautifully pigmented. After two layers you have the perfect shade (= as soon as on the CT website examples).

  • Go or no go: Personally, a Go; otherwise, definitely worth giving a shot!

And with this I would like to say bye-bye! If you want to see the three shades I own – Very Victoria, Sexy Sienna and Love Liberty – on my skin-tone, head to my Instagram for a short video showing you these three colors!
